Description
The Samsung Daechi Ssangyong 1 Redevelopment reimagines an aging residential complex in Seoul’s Gangnam district as a vibrant new neighborhood of six residential towers, generous public space, and landscape-integrated amenities. Replacing 630 existing residences with nearly one thousand homes, the project creates a new model for urban living rooted in community, nature, and sustainability.
Inspired by the concept of Celestial, the sculptural towers appear to rotate and ascend, their faceted façades changing with light and perspective while integrating building-integrated photovoltaic panels. A ribbon-like observation lounge overlooking Yangjae Stream extends into a network of terraced gardens and public spaces, connecting architecture with the surrounding landscape.
Carefully oriented to maximize daylight and views, the master plan includes a central plaza, elevated community spaces, and shared amenities that foster connection while creating a rich and dynamic living environment. The project is slated to begin in 2027
